Is the Torah (Law of Moses) relevant to Gentile followers of the Messiah? Many say no, citing the Jerusalem Council event in Acts 15 as proof. But is that the most accurate interpretation of this passage?
I recently had the opportunity to speak at my home congregation, Founded in Truth, on this important text. I explored what the dispute in Acts 15 was all about, what the apostles decided, and what their decision means for the Gentile believer’s relationship to the Torah.
In this message, I challenge the common interpretation that Acts 15 represents the apostles’ rejection of the Law of Moses and offer an alternative view. Far from ignoring or replacing the Torah, we’ll see how the apostles wisely and faithfully applied the Torah to Gentile believers joining the Messianic Jewish community.
