Looking Back on 2024 and Forward to 2025
"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established" (Prov. 16:3)
2024 has been quite the journey! I want to take a moment to thank you all for being part of it with me. As the year comes to a close, I’d like to reflect on some of the highlights and share a glimpse of what’s ahead in 2025.
First, Some Personal News
Without question, the greatest blessing of 2024 was the birth of our daughter, Ava Lynn Wilber, on October 24th. She was born right on Shemini Atzeret! She really is a cute little thing, and we are deeply grateful to the Lord for this precious gift.
This year was also a significant milestone in my academic journey. I graduated with a BA in Biblical Studies from Charlotte Christian College and Theological Seminary and had the honor of being named Valedictorian of my graduating class. (Watch my Valedictorian speech here.)
Shortly after graduation, I began pursuing my Master’s degree at Southern Evangelical Seminary. This new chapter has been both humbling and exciting as I seek to become better equipped to teach the Scriptures.
What Have I Been Doing in 2024?
Another highlight of 2024 was the release of my newest book, How Jesus Fulfilled the Law, which is a detailed study of Matthew 5:17-20. I was honored to have my book endorsed by scholars such as Dr. Igal German, Dr. Scott McKenzie, and Dr. Benjamin Szumskyj.
I’m so encouraged by the feedback this short little book has received, and I pray it continues to help people understand Yeshua’s perspective on the Torah. Here are a few reviews from readers:
“I think this is probably the best explanation of some of these passages I have ever read. It answered a lot of questions I had.” —Rivkah
“With adroit clarity, David Wilber conveys biblical truth in a concise, easy to understand way. No wasted words! He’s becoming one of my favorite teachers when it comes to matters of God’s law and the central place of relevance it has to the life of the disciple to Jesus.” —Taylor
“This book is necessary for any believer to refute the teaching that the law of Moses has been done away with.” —Elizabeth
There are many more reader reviews, which you can see here.
In addition to my book, I had the honor of having a paper published in the American Journal of Biblical Theology. My paper is a detailed exegesis of Hebrews 1, defending the deity of the Messiah (read it here).
Throughout the year, I’ve also worked on creating many videos and articles. As a subscriber to this newsletter, you’ve likely seen many of them. It’s been a joy to see how God has used this content to help others and inspire deep discussions about the Scriptures.
Looking Ahead to 2025
One of my main goals for the coming year is to pursue more opportunities to publish papers in academic journals. I’ve already submitted a few and am currently awaiting responses. One of my motivations for pursuing higher education was to represent a “pronomian” (pro-law) perspective within the scholarly community and contribute to the conversation. It might be an ambitious goal for a lowly graduate student, but I’m going for it anyway.
On the topic of publishing, one of my essays is set to appear in an upcoming book by McFarland Press titled Introduction to Pronomianism: Essays on One Torah Theology in Modern Christianity, expected to be published in late 2025. Edited by Dr. Szumskyj, this volume includes contributions from some insightful academics, and I am honored to be among them. My essay focuses on the Sabbath in the New Testament.
This year, I also plan to start working on commentaries for both 1 and 2 Peter. I have the basic outline for both commentaries already completed—it’s just a matter of putting pen to paper.
Finally, I’ll continue writing articles and producing videos as often as I can. I’m so encouraged to hear how God is using my work to bless people. If you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to stay informed about new content as it’s released.

As we step into 2025, I’m excited to continue creating and seeing what God does. Thank you for being part of this journey, and may God bless you as we close out this year.
